Fall After-School Clubs & Tourney Training Classes Schedule
129 players competed at the Tri-Valley Open on July 26th at Hidden Hills Elementary in San Ramon, a co-presentation of Emerald Hills Chess and Tri-Valley Chess League and part of our monthly tournament series.

In the 26-player Open Championship, Aaditya Rajesh (Amador Valley High School) went a perfect 4-0 to win the $150 first prize.
Two players tied for second and won $70 each with undefeated 3.5-0.5 scores: Emerald Hills Chess coach Kadir Baki and Litong Nie.
Arjun Patil and Raghav Ramesh tied for 4th with strong 3-1 records, with Ramesh scooping up the $60 U1200 prize.
In the 21-player Experts (U1200) youth/adult section, Arjun Shenoy* (Fallon MS) and Bradley Harger III (Mission Hills MS) both went undefeated with 3.5-0.5 scores to share first and take home $75 each.

Spencer Hu and Adrel Coutinho* (Coyote Creek) tied for 3rd at 3-1. Chetan Patil tied for 5th place with Rishaan Nair and Udayveer Kulhary. (Tiebreakers explained)
Anvit Nadendla* (Cottonwood Creek) won the 1st place U1000 trophy, while Jason Phan* placed second.
In the 33-player Premier (U800) youth/adult section, Aditya Ashwin* (Cottonwood Creek) went a perfect 4-0 to take first. Aarush Noothi (above right, Fairlands) was sole second with 3.5-0.5 score.
There was an eight-way tie for third at 3-1, in tiebreak order: Vivaani Gogte* (Fallon), Joshua Cruz (Creekside), Suhan Bansal (Frederiksen), Nathan Ho, William Huang, Utsav Godra* (Walnut Grove, 1st U600), Partha Chereddy* (2nd U600, Dougherty) and Annika Majumder (Kolb).
In the 30-player K-12 U400-rated youth Challenger, three players tied for first with undefeated 3.5-0.5 scores, in tiebreak order: Siddharth Kumar* (above right, Fairlands), Anika Aravind* (Mission San Jose), and Vihaan Sirupa*.
Four players tied for fourth with 3-1 scores: last month’s champion Ehaan Parekh* (John Green), Arya Ashwin* (Cottonwood Creek), Rishaan Das (Hart), and Ashrith Tatiparthi (Epic).
Zhiyuan Tian (Kolb) and Rivaan Ermal* (Kolb) won the top U200 trophies.
